Revelation Perth International Film Festival never stops!

Our very own streaming service is reaching audiences around the planet with some of the best international indie shorts, feature and documentaries and each month we’re adding five new titles. For March we bring you the searing and fabulous Ukrainian feature ‘The Tribe’, the sparkling music doc of the ‘Betty Davis: They Say I’m Different’ (who passed away last month) and two other great music docs The Allins and ‘ Sisters: Dreams And Variations’. Finally, for those who love experimental films, we present the poetic beauty of ‘Through the Bloody Mists of Time’. RevStream is a one-of-a-kind streaming and distribution service located right here in WA and includes around 200 feature titles and 200 shorts for your enjoyment. . . .And don’t forget that if you’ve got a locally-made film, we’d love to include it as part of RevStream in our Made in WA category. We’ve got more than 100 titles online and we’ve love to include yours and take it to our international audience.

International call for entries
They’re rolling in and looking great – so if you want to be part of the July action, there’s only one way – send us your film. We’re deep in viewing mode and it’s fantastic to see just great work from the four corners of the globe – and we’re waiting for yours! We’re looking for films of any type and size, and from any location and entries close on 1 April so only a few weeks to go. So head to Film Freeway and send us your work.

‘Carry’

Black Cockatoo Crisis
A new feature length social impact documentary film, ‘Black Cockatoo Crisis’ is currently in production in WA. It is being put together by the makers of ‘Cry Of The Forests’, a social impact film that helped change the political landscape and bring an end to all native forest logging in WA. They invite you to be part of this change-making film with their upcoming fundraiser event on 13 March at The Backlot Perth.

Cinema happenings in Perth (and WA)

– Transition Town Vincent invite you to join them Monday 14 March for ‘Cry of the Forests’ which takes viewers to the heart of the forests to see first-hand the beauty of these towering ecosystems and the life they support. Tickets and further info at Humanitix.
– In conjunction with Blackwood River Arts Trail 2022 and Nannup Community Cinema, Revelation is uber excited to announce the showing of a collection of short films produced and directed by Australian filmmakers. The films screening at the inaugural Blackwood River Film Festival include ‘Be You T Fool’, ‘Deb’, ‘I’m So Depressed’, ‘Lost Contact’, ‘Painting By Numbers’, ‘Sparkles’, ‘These Walls’, ‘Two Sands’, ‘WHILE(ALIVE){}’, and ‘Woven Threads: Jett!’ Taking place on 9-10 April in our beautiful south west – tickets and further info via their website.
– Book to Film will burst back to life at The Backlot Perth with two upcoming sessions; Sunday 13 March, at 2pm catch ‘Carrie’, an incendiary 1976 adaptation of Stephen King’s first novel, published just two years before the film. Following the screening of this femme-horror barnstormer, film specialists Damien Spiccia and Clare Toonen will discuss the film and its bloody bestselling blueprint, described at the time as “keep(ing) you interested and horrified to the very last page.” On Sunday 10 April at 2pm, Book to Film doubles down on ’70s shockers with ‘Don’t Look Now’, the haunting and unforgettable 1973 Venice-set tale of grief, solace and seeing, which stars never-better Donald Sutherland and Julie Christy. Daphne du Maurier wrote the brittle and lithe short story on which this is based. Tom Vincent and Terri ann White will host, discuss and shiver along with you and ‘Don’t Look Now’ will be screening in a magnificent FULLY RESTORED 4K Version!
